I sent an email request recently to someone off list, who pointed out I
did not have a "please" and "thank you" in it. This was to someone who
would only be replying out of kindness rather than any form of
obligation. I must have picked up some bad email habits recently,
because in going back through my messages here I note similar bad form
on my part on some messages, some more properly appreciative. I think
the bad habits stem from concentrating too much on the question I was
trying to ask, and forgetting that this forum sends the question to
real people with real schedules. I have apologized to that person, and
I'm apologizing here as well.
