As stated in the on-line help file, after you type
label save filename
Stata saves filename.do which defines the labels and can be run using like
any .do file. Specifically, you can get these labels back by typing:
run filename
or
do filename
depending on whether you want to see the lines execute.
I can't tell from your message what you typed exactly, but I think the help
is fairly self-explanatory on this topic.
