Subject: st: Imputation of binary explanatory variable in probit model
Dear Statalisters,
I know this is not a Stata-question per se but I know of no better forum
to ask it to, so:
With item non-response in a probit model, is it "ok" to impute the
missing values of a binary explanatory variable with the mean? I
suspect it should be ok with a linear probability (OLS) model but am not
sure about the consequences in the probit framework (due to the
non-linearity, the imputed values will impact the other variables, also,
right?). I would be most grateful for any insights on this issue (and
imputation in general).
Cheers,
Niels-Hugo
