I don't know if this will be much help but perhaps may give a clue as to why
this happens. When I try to update at home over a modem, I can't do it and
run into the problem mentioned (There is no .BIN file). However, when I try
to update at work with an ethernet connection, it works fine , provided that
I hit update swap immediately after the download is complete. I wonder if
the program is being automatically unstuffed or something by stuffit
expander and this leads to a problem, I don't know. I understand this is not
a solution but perhaps will give someone a hint as to why the problem
exists.

I hope that someone from this list can help me. This issue is really
starting to get old for me. I have just tried to update my exe file
but the system will not do it -- I keep getting an error message. The
usual drill is for me to erase the entire STATA file and to reinstall
the CD and then to do an update. STATA Technical support has been of
little or no help on this issue. I am currently running OS 10.2.5,
80GB harddisk, and 1.2 GB of memory. What can I do to get a smooth
updating of the exe file?
