The help file is referring to a ! alone which is not allowed in Mac OS X. An
operating system command is required. ! by itself opens a DOS prompt in
Windows, a shell in Unix console, or an xterm in X-Windows. There's some
reason we chose not to do something equivalent and launch the Terminal app in
Mac OS X but I don't remember why.
