st: gladder

Why is there an option tab called (Normal density) in the gladder 
dialog if when you check it you get a complaint:

. sysuse auto
(1978 Automobile Data)

. gladder mpg, normal
option normal not allowed
invalid syntax
r(198);

And yet,

.gladder mpg

gives the graph without complain _and_ unwanted normals when the option 
was not checked.
