Given a new release, and users banging hard on
it, this is a season of users finding bugs -- or
at least puzzling output -- and Stata Corp fixing or
explaining as appropriate.
This is a simple general suggestion: do make
sure before posting about a problem that you have the
latest update of Stata 8 by typing -update query-.
Also, it does no harm, and may clarify an issue,
to report the results of -update query- with
your posting.
As I write, there have already been three updates,
the last on 21 January.
