OK, I try to be more precise. I meant "legend" not label.

My observations can be devided into two groups according to the values of a dummy variable ("idx"). If I plot all observations in the same triangle they should get different symbols. In order to do that I have to specify -key()- and -sy()-. So far so good. Howerver, using this syntax I get a legend on the upper right side outside the triangle. I wonder how I can get rid of this legend.

The help for -triplot- 1.2.3, which is the version
on SSC, says

As a special case, label(.) specifies no labels and no reference
    lines.

Is that what you want? If not, say precisely
what you want and I'll pass the message on.
