This sounds like Mac Classic OS (rather than OS X which doesn't crash as
such). Type 11 is a memory overflow error, and so is type 2. It may be that
your Mac is communicating poorly with the network. Do you have a proxy
server? Did you tell Stata?
Allocating more memory won't help; this isn't a memory problem.
It would help to know what type of network you were on, and what version of
the Mac OS you are using. And the birth date of your executable (type
. q born
to see this.
