You should check at http://www.measuredhs.com . This site provide the South
African Demographic and Health Survey'98, also you can ask the web
administrator and it will pass to the programmer who create this data. I
have experience to manage the DHS data specially Indonesian DHS data and one
reason why that data cannot merge one into another is defferent type of key
variables. You should check the key id variables and it should be same type
and structure. Hope this will help.
