Stata 5: I am having trouble running Stata for Linux on my Linux computer. What is wrong?

Title   Stata 5: Red Hat Linux
Author Mark Esman, StataCorp
Date July 1997

The current distribution of Stata is in a.out binary format. Some newer Linux distributions, such as Red Hat, do not by default install a.out support. Under most circumstances, simply installing the a.out support from the Linux distribution media will solve the problem.
